So, I have decided to switch my study abroad blog over to Wordpress. The rest of the URL is still the same: http://spainorshine.wordpress.com/

Application available in December

I had thought that the application to study abroad was available in August, so about August 15, I went to the site to start the application process and was greeted by a message saying "We're sorry. There are currently no terms available at this time. Please select another study abroad thing." (Not an exact quote). Then, below that it said "Applications will be available Dec. 1." I panicked, assuming I missed my chance to study abroad. After emailing the advisor, however, I learned that the August 1 date referred to the Spring 09 Sevilla program and the application for the summer doesn't become available until Dec. 1. A little annoyed at UNC study abroad for creating the confusion in the first place, but at least it will work out. *Phew*

Welcome to my study abroad blog. I'm hoping to study abroad in Spain next summer, so I created this blog as a way of keeping in touch. The reason I want to go during the summer is because I couldn't bear to miss out on any semester at UNC and Wesley, and I would hate not being able to go back to St. Francis to help at Discovery and such. I have sort of been all over the place as far as study abroad locations, but I originally wanted to go to Sevilla and it looks like that's where I'll be after all. I had been looking into going to Madrid, also during the summer, until I realized how much more expensive it is than going to Sevilla. The application won't be available until August 1, so I won't actually be doing anything about this until later, I just wanted to get a post up in my blog.
